"Still Praying," from Georgia (submitted Sept, 2003) |

Name: Still Praying Home state or country: Atlanta, GA
My story does not have a happy ending yet, but I believe that it will. My relationship with my stepson is great, and I thank God for that. He is such a sweet little boy, and I love him so much. However, we have not been able to have a relationship with his mom and her new husband. We want to be able to talk to them, and maybe even meet for dinner or birthdays. I am careful to always show the love of Jesus by sending presents for their children. We do not even recieve a thank you, but I know that God sees, and that is all that matters.
If any of you are in my situation just continue to love. Know that jealousy is the root of all evil. Guard your hearts that you would not also fall into jealousy or slander. Always remember that in the New Testement God tells us that the most important command is to love. That does not exclude anyone! It also says in scripture that people are able to tell if you are a christian by the love that you show; it pours burning coals over their heads! After someone continues to show love all the time I'm sure that eventually it will melt even the coldest heart. None of us asked to be in this situation. None of us thought, "when I grow up I want to get a divorce or marry a divorced person." But God says that he takes all situations and uses them for his glory!!!
God is so good, so forgiving, so loving. If you have to cry, God is there to collect your tears. We are all so precious to him. God bless all of you!
