Mrs. Too late, from North Carolina (submitted August, 2004) |

Name: Mrs Too Late Home state or country: North Carolina
Everyone should read the book. I may have read it too late. I'm almost four years into my second marriage (my husband's third) and everything is down-hill. I am sure if we had read these stories and the book prior to marriage we could have avoided a lot of mistakes. My husband is jealous of my son who was 5 1/2 when we married. His children who were 9 at 14 at the time of our marriage barely speak to him. Our relationship has suffered and the children's too. Even our walk with Christ is tested at a level we never could have imagined. I encourage every one to read not only this book but everything spiritually sound. To ensure you've not only heard your heart, but you've heard God and his perfect plan. I would like to say I've suffered the most over the past four years. The truth is it's the children who have had to pay the price for our ignorance, naivity and lack of knowledge. Pray, read and pray some more before blending two families. It can be done but should be done slowly and with wisdom. My prayers to all step families.
Dear Too Late, Your sadness is quite evident. I'm sorry that your marriage is struggling and we'll pray that solutions can be found. In the meantime, your admonition to others is hard to miss--and should be considered by all. RLD
